Saints Festival Winners

All Saint’s Day has been an ongoing tradition celebrated at Mother of Sorrows for many years. Every year on November 1st we celebrate the many saints we love and worship with our school community that include; Teachers, Staff, Students and of course Parents. In celebration of All Saint’s Day,  everyone at Mother of Sorrows is asked to dress up as their favorite Saint or religious figure.

This year the tradition continued at Mother of Sorrows. The day began with a beautiful sermon at mass led by Father Bryan.

After mass Mother of Sorrows began its annual Saints Parade. Every grade PS – 8th paraded around in a circle to show everyone the amazing costume they used to represent a Saint of their choosing. At  the end of the parade, judges; Mr. Amezcua, Ms. Estrada, Coach Randy and Ms. Martinez chose a handful of winners who had the most original or creative costume of their Saint. Congratulations to winners; Benjamin Barragan (PS), Bridget Pineda (TK), Belen Rangel Manzo (K), Johannes Mestanza (1st), Justin Pineda (2nd), Aredays Curiel (3rd), Melanie Felix (4th), Adan Venegas (5th), Priscilla Hidalgo (6th), Ashley Hinton (7th), Idaly De Luna (8th) and Ms. Robbins.

The celebration continued at Mother of Sorrows with Saint themed games and activities. Throughout the courtyard every grade set up their own game for students and parents to enjoy such as Cornhole, Pin the Wings on the Angel, and arts and crafts. The games and activities were all accompanied by great music by Mr. Amezcua who got many of our students on the dance floor.

THANK YOU TO THE PARENTS WHO DONATED THE BUNS AND WIENERS FOR THE HOT DOGS.
