Quality Catholic Education

Mother of Sorrows School is a Catholic pre-school through 8th grade school located in South-Central Los Angeles. Sponsored by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, we are steeped in the Vincentian charism and serve families regardless of their ability to pay full tuition. 98% of Mother of Sorrows students qualify for free or reduced lunch from the National School Lunch Program.

In the spirit of the Daughters of Charity and the founders of our Vincentian charism, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac, we guide our students to be “Young Vincentians” whose lives are grounded in faith and service, and who treat others with respect and compassion.

Our mission to provide a transformative education of the mind, body, and spirit draws strength from our academic support programs, our extra-curricular activities, and the variety of health and education services we provide to promote the development of both students and families.

We constantly endeavor to grow as a community and to help our students develop spiritually as life-long learners.
