Congratulations to the Class of 2013

June 20, 2013 by DMD
Members of Mother of Sorrows School’s Class of 2013 gathered with their families on June 7th to celebrate their Graduation Awards Banquet. Members of Mother of Sorrows’ faculty, staff and administration were also present, as were a number of friends of Mother of Sorrows School.

Mother of Sorrows School is proud to announce the graduation of our Class of 2013. The 16 students who composed the Class of 2013 celebrated their graduation – along with family members, loved ones, and Mother of Sorrows faculty and staff members – with a mass on June 8th at 1 p.m. in Mother of Sorrows Church. Msgr. Joseph Brennan (Moderator of the Curia and Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles) and Rev. Abel Loera (Pastor of Mother of Sorrows Church) celebrated the graduation mass.

Prior to their graduation, 8th grade students participated in a variety of special events and activities. These included a class retreat, a class picnic, a day of service at The Midnight Mission and an 8th grade v. faculty/staff volleyball game. Additionally, graduates and their family members attended a graduation awards banquet on Friday, June 7th in the Mother of Sorrows Parish Hall. The banquet included dinner, an award ceremony and student-delivered tributes to former teachers.

We are delighted to announce that all 16 of Mother of Sorrows’ newest alumni will journey onward in the fall to attend Catholic high schools. These schools include: Bishop Montgomery High School, Cathedral High School, Junipero Serra High School, Notre Dame Academy, St. Bernard High School, St. Joseph High School, St. Mary’s Academy, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy and Verbum Dei High School.

The Mother of Sorrows School community congratulates each of our graduates on this wonderful accomplishment. May God bless you and keep you, and may you know your MOS family is always here for you.
