Thank you, Vanir Foundation and MOS parents and families!

December 16, 2014 by DMD

Throughout the past 4 years, The Vanir Foundation in Memory of H. Frank Dominguez has funded an engagement program to encourage and recognize parent and family participation at Mother of Sorrows School. This year, as in past years, the program will run throughout the entire school year, and is divided into two parts: the Fall Engagement Program and the Spring Engagment Program.

During each half of the year, parents and families who participate in a minimum number of engagement activities (for example: parent meetings, Back to School Night, Family Math and Reading Nights, All Saints’ Festival and more), qualify to receive a gift card or a gift certificate from The Vanir Foundation.

Today, a special presentation marked the end of this year’s Fall Engagement Program. The 121 families that qualified to receive a food gift card for holiday meal shopping gathered at 8 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Mayra Salazar, Director of Programs for The Vanir Foundation, presented gift cards to the families and spoke on behalf of the Vanir Foundation to thank MOS families for their participation. She also highlighted the importance of remaining involved in their students’ academics. The gathering also featured a performance by the Mother of Sorrows choir, refreshments and conversation.

Thank you to all of our wonderful parents and families for your continued support of your children and our community. And thank you to The Vanir Foundation for its partnership in Mother of Sorrows School’s mission to provide a transformative education for our children

The Vanir Foundation’s Engagement Program will continue this Spring, and will provide the opportunity for parents and families to qualify to receive uniform gift certificates to purchase uniforms for their children.
