A Catholic Schools Week Message from Miss Villarreal

January 18, 2013 by DMD

Dear Family and Friends,

What an exciting time for Mother of Sorrows!

The next few weeks invite us into a time of reflection.

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we recognize our importance not only in our community, but also in the world at large.

We reflect on what building a faith community means, and so we are invited to take action.

Like our students who will embark on service projects – both here at school, and around our city: singing at a retirement home, serving food to the homeless, or preparing meals at St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels for the elderly – we too must take action!

We are called to celebrate! Our WASC/WCEA Accreditation visit invites us to celebrate and witness how our school has grown in the past years, as an academic program and a faith community. We recognize how our continued work transforms lives.

Finally, we are asked to have hope, to look at where we are today and to plan for the future of our school.

How will we grow? What will we bring to our children, families, and our community? How will we keep our faith strong to be a living testimony of Gospel values in our everyday interactions?

May God bless each one of you for your continued support. We could not do this alone, and we look forward to what our future brings!

In Prayer,

Miss Griselda Villarreal
