Congratulations to our students who have been recognized for illustrating the SLEs

Mother of Sorrows School guides students to achieve six school-wide learning expectations (SLEs). Every two or three weeks, one student from every class is recognized for exemplifying the qualities of a specific SLE through their behavior and actions inside and outside of the classroom. They receive recognition at school mass and have their picture displayed at the entrance of the school.

On September 22, the following students were recognized as Active Catholics: Gabriela Gutierrez, Mauricio Ruiz, Aredays Curiel, Christa Partida, Valerie De Leon, Leovy Peralta, Kailyn Partida, Jocelyn Papaqui, Kristine Salmeron, Melanie Zarco and Robert Figueroa. These students apply the teachings of Jesus and the Church and participate actively in liturgies, sacraments and prayer.

On October 6, the following students were recognized as Young Vincentians: Alexis Elloie-Martin, Beatrice R, Alan Vazquez, Jeremy C, Juan Ruiz, Izabella Trujillo, William Lopez, Juan Castro, Natalia B, Taliyah B and Emily M. These students are able to identify Catholic social teachings, serve others within the school and community, and identify the importance of models of Vincentian service.

On October 20, the following students were recognized as Effective Communicators: Kevin Flores, Grace Hernandez, Justin Richardson, Dahlia Muñoz, Hazel Chavez, Jonathan Rodriguez, Brandon Cardoza, Mikayla Alvarez, Dulcemaria Ponce, Perla Calderon and Jocelyn Lopez. These students write and speak using skills for appropriate audiences and listen actively.

On November 3, the following students were recognized as Critical Thinkers: Janice Castañeda, Benjamin Zelaya, Anthony Flores, David Jimenez, Yaretzi Pineda, Ariadne Lozano, Antonio Felix, Marcos Muñoz and Julissa Mendez. These students use strategies to solve problems. They are also able to apply, synthesize, analyze and evaluate information.

On November 24, the following students were recognized as Self-Aware Individuals: Yaretzi M, Katherine Calderon, Sandra Tigua, Marley Gomez, Anabella Trujillo, Priscilla Hidalgo, Ashlee Hinton, Adalyn Teutla, Arianna Linares, Ashley Cardoza and Francisco Padilla. These students practice self-control and are able to identify personal strengths and weaknesses.

On December 8, the following students were recognized as Life-Long Learners: Hazel Hinton, Xavier De Luna, Derek Mendez, Michael Cisneros, Jennifer Velasco, Kayla Gutierrez, Vanessa Linares, Matheu Castañeda, Delilah Partida, Jose Guillen and Marbella Trujillo. These students can explain the relationship between classroom learning and real life. They are also able to set, monitor, and evaluate progress toward goals and pursue academic interests beyond the classroom.

On January 5, the following students were recognized as Active Catholics: Jade Mendez, Matthew Gutierrez, Samantha Rodriguez, Jasmin Flores, Naomi Papaqui, Damian Rangel, Joshua Lopez, Valeria Cueva Jimenez, Giselle Espino, Karla Jordan and Evelyn Ramirez. These students apply the teachings of Jesus and the Church and participate actively in liturgies, sacraments and prayer.

On January 19, the following students were recognized as Young Vincentians: Cristian Ramirez, Christopher Quintanilla, Andrea Serrano, Alfonza Lira, Luz Mendez, Ashley Barajas, Natlia Lopez, Abraham Prieto Guillen, Ramon Beltran, Nayeli Gomez and Andrea Robles. These students are able to identify Catholic social teachings, serve others within the school and community, and identify the importance of models of Vincentian service.

On February 9, the following students were recognized as Effective Communicators: Adelina Jimenez, Alan Vazquez, Benjamin Hernandez, Jerrie Pineda, Ariadne Lozano, Jessica Flores, Jeffrey Bolaños, Ashley Merino, Melanie Zarco and Jocelyn Lopez. These students write and speak using skills for appropriate audiences and listen actively.

On March 2, the following students were recognized as Critical Thinkers: Jade Rosa, John Muñoz, Jilary Vazquez, Emilio Avila, Lindzay Herrera, Jonathan Rodriguez, Moses Barragan, Annette Ramirez, Martin Rangel, Alan Portillo and Karen Plascencia. These students use strategies to solve problems. They are also able to apply, synthesize, analyze and evaluate information.

We look forward to recognizing more students as they grow throughout the year!
