MOS community celebrates annual All Saints’ Festival

November 8, 2012 by DMD

Mother of Sorrows celebrated our fourth annual All Saints’ Festival on November 1 (All Saints’ Day). Students from pre-school through 8th grade took part in the celebration, which included a day full of activities and the opportunity for students to dress as saints they have studied.

All Saints’ Day events included an all-school mass in the morning, an activity for buddy classes (two grades that pair for projects and events throughout the school year), a special hot dog lunch, a parade of saints, and a variety of saint-themed games such as “Halo the Angel” and “Saint Bean Bag Toss.” Faculty, staff, student council members, and school parents and family members facilitated the games.

The All Saints’ Festival is a Mother of Sorrows tradition that combines the spirit of costumes with the values that Church role models have exemplified throughout history. It provides a way for students to enjoy their childhood in a safe environment while they enrich their faith lives.

We thank all the parents and family members from the Mother of Sorrows community who helped make the festival a great success again this year for our children!
