The Advent season invites us into a time of patiently waiting, a time of hope, a very important time for all of us. Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, calls this “Year of Faith” a time for us to rediscover our faith and to defend life and the flourish of families. And so, we are invited to grow closer in our relationship, not only with Christ, but also with one another.
As we light the weekly candles, the dim light is a reminder of the light that Christ brings into our life. This dim light for many is the ray of hope against the world we live in, which often times is filled with darkness.
May we continue to be a people of hope – a people whose faith is marked by the expectation of Christ’s coming – and may we be a bearing witness to the light of Christ in our families and to the world!
