The Vanir Foundation and Vanir Construction Management partner with Mother of Sorrows to expand instructional space and educational programming

January 17, 2013 by DMD

We are excited to announce The Vanir Foundation in Memory of H. Frank Dominguez and Vanir Construction Management, Inc.’s partnership with Mother of Sorrows School to help construct and outfit expanded classroom space on our campus.

A modular unit will allow for this expansion. The unit will be located on the northwest corner of Mother of Sorrows’ main campus next to our lunch pavilion. An LAUSD-owned modular unit previously occupied this space and housed the Title I program, but was removed at the beginning of this school year.

The new modular unit will provide enough space for Mother of Sorrows to open an on-campus learning center and to pursue our goal to open a Transitional Kindergarten program. We are thrilled to have the support of The Vanir Foundation and Vanir Construction Management for this project.

The Vanir Foundation has generously granted $7,800 to help outfit a learning center with resources that will promote student, teacher and parent collaboration.

Vanir Construction Management is contributing pro bono construction management for the project. Mr. Chad White, of Vanir Construction Management and Vanir Ambassadors, is serving as the project manager.

Additionally, Mother of Sorrows School has hired Spacio Design to develop the modular unit’s design.

We thank The Vanir Foundation and Vanir Construction Management for their continued commitment to our Mother of Sorrows School community and for their partnership in our mission to provide a transformative education for the children we serve.

Please stay tuned to hear updates about this exciting project. If you would like to contribute to further outfit our new space, please contact Griselda Villarreal, principal, or Ann Stacy, development coordinator, at 323-758-6204.
